Movement and sports during pregnancy

If you are healthy, you can and should keep active during pregnancy. This supports the health of mother and child. It is best to walk, swim or do light aerobics for around 30 minutes a day.

Avoid

  • all types of sports with a risk of falling, for example, horse riding
  • intensive sports that are practised with rackets
  • sports with direct contact with opponents, for example, football, basketball and the like.
  • Diving – here there is a risk of injury caused by excess pressure or rapid pressure relief.
