“Geburtsinfo Wien”

Fonds Soziales Wien (Vienna Social Fund), located in Guglgasse 7-9, 1030 Vienna, processes the following personal data of pregnant women as part of its day-to-day operation of “Geburtsinfo Wien” (Vienna Birth Information Centre):

a. Personal master data (e.g.: name, contact details, address, date of birth, social security number)
b. Expected date of birth
c. Presence of a high-risk birth
d. Specified preferred clinics
e. Special features (concerns and enquiries)
f. Call recordings

The aforementioned data is collected and processed for the following purposes:

  • The data pursuant to lit. a to e shall be processed for the provision of obstetric information, for the registration of pregnant women in hospitals for birth, and for quality management-related purposes (this shall include, in particular, the administrative and technical development of “Geburtsinfo Wien”). This data shall also be used in anonymised form for statistical purposes with a view to improving the overall healthcare system.
  • The data pursuant to lit. a to f shall be processed for quality and evidence preservation purposes.

The legal bases for data processing comprise:

  • Processing for the purpose of providing obstetric information, registering pregnant women in hospitals for childbirth, quality management and quality assurance are all performed on the basis of Art. 9 (2) lit. h GDPR (processing for healthcare purposes and for the management of healthcare systems and services)
  • Statistical analysis to improve the healthcare system is performed on the basis of Art. 9 (2) lit. g GDPR (processing in the substantial public interest) in conjunction with Section 11 of the Health Target Control Act (Gesundheits-Zielsteuerungsgesetz).
  • Processing for the purpose of preserving evidence is based on Art. 9 (2) lit. f GDPR (processing for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims).

To the extent that it is deemed essential, in order to achieve the purposes listed at the beginning, personal data shall be disclosed to the following recipients:

Wiener Gesundheitsverbund (WIGEV), Thomas-Klestil-Platz 7/1, 1030 Vienna (Disclosure shall be made to the following clinics for birth registration: “University Hospital AKH Vienna”, Währinger Gürtel 18-20, 1090 Vienna; “Klinik Donaustadt”, Langobardenstraße 122, 1220 Vienna; “Klinik Favoriten”, Kundratstraße 3, 1100 Vienna; “Klinik Floridsdorf”, Brünner Straße 68, 1210 Vienna; “Klinik Hietzing” Wolkersbergenstraße 1, 1130 Vienna, “Klinik Landstraße”, Juchgasse 25, 1030 Vienna; “Klinik Ottakring”, Montleartstraße 37, 1160 Vienna; “St. Josef Krankenhaus GmbH”, Auhofstraße 189, 1130 Vienna)

Callers’ personal data shall not be disclosed to third parties.

Fonds Soziales Wien (Vienna Social Fund) shall process personal data as long as this is deemed essential for the purposes for which it was collected or processed. Any further storage of your data may result from legal obligations or in connection with the assertion or defence of legal claims during administrative or judicial proceedings.
